Wonderful example for this saying. And Nvidia is the modern proof that it works perfectly. :))
The saying originated from the California gold rush of the 1840s and 1850s, when few prospectors found gold, but many suppliers who sold them shovels, picks, jeans, tents, and other supplies profited from the demand.
